Why is it then, that even here in New Zealand, I’ve seen articles describing Emily as co-vocalist, but all references to Chester describe him as lead vocalist. Is it simply mix up because Shinoda did some singing too (as always), or have you somehow predetermined that Emily’s contributions are somehow inferior, or not going to live up to expectation?

Why if someone is filling a role, should you describe them differently?

To err is human / Technical Issues

There were a few comments about how it “Could be nerves” or how “She needs to polish her voice”, to which I will simply say, you get the fuck out there and do better. It’s easy to criticize from the shelter of your basement, curled up with a blanket and some headphones. But remember, that this is a big moment they’ve all been working toward, and taking a moment to be overwhelmed is perfectly fine – or is it that you don’t like it when a woman shows emotion?

Getting choked up simply means that Emily is aware of the gravity of that moment in time and it proves that she has immense respect for the body of work and the legacy of the band. Going out on stage for the first time with a new band is nerve racking, hell, going out in front of a crowd for anything can be problematic – next time out, I’m sure this iteration of the band will smash it. I’m confident with that by the simple fact that Mike was out there the entire time with a big stupid grin on his face, which is testament to how well they’re all working together and how much fun they’re having together.
